This base was used during the 2022 Giants vs Cardinals series at Oracle Park in San Francisco. This base was used during innings 1-3. On 5-5, it was used at 2nd base. On 5-6, it was used at 3rd base. On 5-7, it was used at 1st base. On 5-8, it was used at 3rd base. On 5-7, in the top of the 2nd, Yadier Molina singled on a line drive to right field. Juan Yepez scored. This was Molina’s 1000th career RBI. Molina became just the 16th catcher in MLB history to record 1000 RBIs. Yadier finished 14th overall in RBIs by catchers with 1022. Molina is the only St. Louis Cardinal catcher with 1000 or more RBIs. Ted Simmons, my dad’s favorite player, completed his career with 1389 RBIs, but is 2nd all-time as a Cardinal with 929.
